See, I Told You So: Women Love Men in Red

According to recent research, women find red more attractive than any other color.  That means that if you want to attract a special lady or if you husbands want to look especially special to your wife, wear red.  The story comes from Reuters with the title, "Women find men in red more appealing?"  The first paragraph reads:

Men wanting to catch the eye of women should dress in red, a color which new research shows makes them more alluring to the opposite sex.

Click on the title of the article to read the rest.  Of course this is all for giggles and kicks.  I now know why I was able to catch such a perfect wife:  I'm a Louisville Cardinal fan!

Something UL, WKU, and UK Fans Can Be Excited About

I found out today that a UK, UL, and WKU basketball player will be among 11 players who will be joining a team in May and playing for over 2 weeks in China.  The local players are Petyon Siva (UL), Jon Hood and Josh Harrelson (UK, and Steffphon Pettigrew (WKU).  Why is this such a big deal?

The trip is one of several sponsored and organized by Sports Reach, a Kentucky-based Christian sports ministry that uses athletics as a platform to share Christ throughout the world.

You know what this means.  Dare I say it . . . I will be rooting for this team including those who represent the University of Kentucky!  I think this is the final sign of the Apocalypse.

I am very excited to see high profile college players like these representing Christ internationally.  Let us pray for these players that they are well received, do not get injured, and are able to share the gospel with a country that is hostile to it.  But with any evangelistic trip like this, we must pray that their experiences in missions over there continue over here as these players will be major forces in the coming years of college basketball.  In a sport where players care more about future dollar signs, this story is a pleasant and well received suprise.

Good luck guys!  Even the UK players.

U of L Finally Gets One

Finally, the University of Louisville gets one over the University of Kentucky. U of L has lost in football, basketball, and in the first game in baseball.  But 1 out of 4 isn't bad I guess.  Last night, the U of L baseball team beat UK  in their second meeting of the year in a thrilling 10-9 finale.

Here is how the game was won.

The Coleman Classic

This past Saturday, some of us went to the annual Derby Classic game at Freedom Hall to watch some of next years recruits.  As always, it was an exciting and entertaining game.  Here is a video of Justin Coleman who is coming to Louisville next year.  The reason I like this video is because it is the only one I have found with the soccer dunk.  Watch the video and you'll see what I mean.

The music and the quality of the video is distracting, but it'll have to do.

Also, I encourage all Louisville fans to read this article about the new U of L coach Charlie Strong. I am liking him more and more.

The History of Freedom Hall

For you Cardinal fans, here's a great video about the history of Freedom Hall. Many of you may know that Friday is the last game that the men's team will play in the historical building. Interestingly, the last game will be against the number 1 team in the nation. It would be awesome to go out by defeating the Syracuse powerhouse.

Billy Clyde is Out!

It is days like this that I am grateful to be a Louisville fan . . . until football season :o) I'm sure everyone knows that Billy Gillispie has been fired as UK head coach. Whose next?

In other news, Louisville plays tonight in the Sweet 16 against the Arizona Wildcats (remember 1998 UK fans?). And since UK fans don't have anything to do, you can watch your former coach.

I just had too! :o)

March Madness is Here: I Just Couldn't Resist

Since March Madness is upon us and Kentucky fans are going mad because their team didn't make it, I thought I would post the one memory that Kentucky fans wish to forget. Enjoy!!

Look on the bright side UK fans, U of L was in the NIT just a few years ago. Now look at them: Big East Champs and the number 1 team in the nation. And we didn't fire our coach. There is hope for you yet! :o)
